The workshop tool place on the second day of the conference during a dedicated session to Horizon 2020 projects.
The INTERPLAN project invited transmission and distribution system operators, academia and industry experts, as well as wider network analysts that have an interest in the subject, to join the workshop to learn about the new developments in the domain of network operation planning and exchange opinions with other stakeholders. Getting in touch with stakeholders to receive feedback and recommendations, especially about the tool and its development, is of major importance for the project.
After a general presentation of the project and its current status, more specific exchanges took place on the main research areas and the latest developments already accomplished to meet the challenge of developing an innovative network operation planning tool.
Panellist and presenter Alma Solar (CEA-Alginet) shared some daily operation experience and practical challenges faced by DSOs today and tomorrow, and how a tool like INTERPLAN could help increase the interaction level between TSOs and DSOs.
Panellists Erik de Jong (DNV GL and INTERPLAN advisory board member), Prof. Alberto Borghetti (University of Bologna) and Prof. Pierluigi Siano (University of Salerno) provided us valuable feedback on the direction the developments of the tool should be taking.
We would like to thank our external experts who contributed to a most fruitful panel discussion by giving us their feedback on the project and direction it is taking: Erik de Jong (DNV GL and INTERPLAN advisory board member), Alma Solar (CEA-Alginet), Prof. Alberto Borghetti (University of Bologna) and Prof. Pierluigi Siano (University of Salerno).
