On 23 November 2018, INTERPLAN was presented at the 4th Mission Innovation – Innovation Challenge 1 deep-dive workshop in Rome (IT), among the International Initiatives and lighthouse projects, during the public event.
The Smart Grids Innovation Challenge (IC1) is the first of eight ICs under the Mission Innovation (MI), a global initiative involving 22 countries and the European Union, with the main objective to accelerate the development and demonstration of smart grids technologies in a variety of grid applications.
INTERPLAN was presented by Marialaura Di Somma (ENEA) to a broad audience including representatives from ministries, international organisations and key stakeholders working on the topic of smart grids research and innovation. The project’s scope and goals were presented, with an emphasis on the methodology and the main achievements to date, such as INTERPLAN Scenarios, Use Cases and Requirements.
The novel approach used by INTERPLAN, consisting of actively involving external stakeholders in a series of targeted workshops in order to validate and complement project recommendations on regulations and grid rules was also presented, together with the benefits to become an INTERPLAN stakeholder.
The INTERPLAN presentation received great interest from the audience, thus maximising the dissemination impact and encouraging further international collaboration.
